ポール・マッカートニーの80歳の誕生日を記念し、フォースリン・ロードで演奏できるチャンス

英国の歴史的建築物や自然的景勝地を保護、管理する団体ナショナル・トラストは、ポール・マッカートニーの80回目の誕生日を記念し、ポールが青春時代を過ごしたリバプール、フォースリン・ロード20番地にある家でプレイできる機会『ザ・フォースリン・セッションズ』を開催すると発表した。

ポールは1955年、中学生のとき家族と共にこの家に引っ越し、曲作りやリハーサルを行っていた。この場所を所有、管理しているナショナル・トラストは、ここを“ザ・ビートルズの生誕地”と称している。
一般公開はされているが、この家に再び、ミュージシャンを目指す人たちによる音楽を持ち込もうと『ザ・フォースリン・セッションズ』が企画された。現在、参加を希望する新人アーティストたちを一般公募しており、ポールの弟、マイク・マッカートニー、ザ・ビートルズ研究家Pete Paphides氏、ナショナル・トラストの代表者たちが出演者を選考する。
セッションは、ポールの誕生日の前日、6月17日に開催され、ナショナル・トラストのYouTubeチャンネルやSNSで配信されるという。また、選出されたアーティストたちは、ポールが共同設立したリバプール・インスティテュート・フォー・パフォーミング・アーツで半年間、教えを受けることもできる。
18歳以上のUK在住者で契約を交わしていないことが条件となる。詳細は特設サイト（nationaltrust.org.uk/the-forthlin-sessions）まで。
